Expanding Your Horizons
Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) in Science and Mathematics™ conferences nurture girls’ interest in science and math courses to encourage them to consider careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Every spring EWS-SWE members participate by organizing and presenting at this enriching event for middle school girls.

DiscoverE Girl Day
Girl Day is on Thursday of the annual Engineer’s Week celebration. Eastern Washington SWE and NSBE Tri-Cities host a free event at the Richland Library with hands on activities for girls in grades 3 through 12.
Mid-Columbia Science Fair
Each year EWS judges science presentations of girls middle school through high school at the Mid-Columbia Regional Science fair. Five winners and five honorable mention awards are given to girls with the best presentations.
Certificates of Merit
Eastern Washington Section presents Certificates of Merit at the year end awards ceremonies for the recognition of high school girls who have achieved three years of excellence in math and science course. To order Certificates of Merit for your high school, please complete this form.
